Jolene Assistant ("the Service," "we," "our") is an AI-powered automated messaging platform that sends scheduling reminders, notifications, and alerts to users via SMS. Messages are initiated programmatically by the application based on user-configured preferences. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Phone Number. We store your mobile phone number to send you the messages you have requested — schedule reminders, calendar notifications, alerts, and task confirmations.

Message Content. We process the content of text messages you send to the Service in order to fulfill your requests (e.g., creating calendar events, setting reminders, answering questions).

Usage Data. We log limited metadata — message timestamps and delivery status — solely to ensure reliable message delivery and troubleshoot technical issues.

Opt-In Records. We maintain a record of your consent to receive automated messages, including the date, time, and method by which you provided consent.

We do not collect your name, email address, location, device information, or any data beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the SMS assistant.

3. How End Users Opt In and Provide Consent

Before receiving any automated SMS messages from Jolene Assistant, every end user must provide prior express written consent through one of the following opt-in methods:

The Service operator sends an invitation to a known individual. The individual must reply with an explicit consent message (e.g., "YES" or "START") to begin receiving automated messages. The opt-in confirmation message includes:

3.2 Web-Based Opt-In

When enrolling via a web interface (if available), the user must:

  1. Enter their mobile phone number into a clearly labeled form field
  2. Check an unchecked checkbox stating: "I consent to receive automated SMS messages from Jolene Assistant. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help. I agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service."
  3. Submit the form
  4. Receive an opt-in confirmation SMS and reply YES to confirm

The checkbox is always unchecked by default and requires active, affirmative action by the user. No pre-checked boxes are used.

3.3 Opt-In Confirmation Message

Regardless of the opt-in method, every new user receives the following confirmation as their first SMS:

"You're subscribed to Jolene Assistant automated messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Privacy: https://thecameragroup.cloud/privacy | Terms: https://thecameragroup.cloud/terms"

3.4 Consent Record Keeping

For each end user, we maintain a durable record of: the phone number, the date and time consent was provided, the method by which consent was obtained (direct invitation or web form), the IP address (for web-based opt-ins), and the confirmation message delivery status.

4. Data Sharing and Non-Sharing of Mobile Information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Service Providers. We use Twilio, Inc. as our SMS messaging infrastructure provider. Twilio processes your phone number and message content solely to route SMS messages between you and the Service. Twilio's use of that data is governed by Twilio's Privacy Policy. Twilio is a service provider acting on our behalf, not a third party receiving your data for its own purposes.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. Message data is transmitted over encrypted channels (TLS). However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your phone number, message history, and opt-in consent records only as long as necessary to provide the Service to you. If you opt out or stop using the Service, we will delete your data within 30 days. You may request earlier deletion at any time.

The Service is not directed to individuals under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We will notify active users of material changes via SMS.
